Values & Culture

Our Ten Commandments

  1. We will not worship money, land, buildings, power, or position. Our moral code shall be our first priority.
  2. These Ten Commandments have become an ethical foundation for TLC. We recognize these same principles could benefit your organization as well!

We will not use profanity, or treat disrespectfully the name of personas holy to others, or speak in a manner which causes needless discomfort to others. We will be honest.
  3. We will respect the need for rest for our team members. We will not put the company's needs above that of their needs to worship or be with their family.
  4. We will honor the authorities in our lives, including our family, management, and government.
  5. We will love others, respect the spiritual well being of others and ourselves. We will not accept fury, revenge, or hatred.
  6. We will be modest and respectful of others in words and acts, being especially sensitive to others of different race, sex, creed, and national origin.
  7. We will respect what belongs to others by:
    • Providing value to our customers
    • Living up to our agreements with customers, team members, and vendors
    • Protecting the environment
    • Keeping debt to a minimum
  8. We will not lie or mislead others, speak ill of others, or divulge confidential information.
  9. We will not interfere with or encourage others to violate any legitimate commitments they have made.
  10. We will not seek to acquire anything that we do not properly deserve, including profits, contracts, employees, investors, press coverage, and legal protection.

Our Culture

  • We have a "No excuse" culture.
  • We thrive on accountability and celebrate solutions.
  • We focus on results not effort or intent.
  • We learn from one time mistakes, and insure they are not repeated.
  • We define problems in terms of processes, not people.
  • We think long term- we do not trade off long term strength for short term gains.
  • We are committed to:
    • Being the best at what we do.
    • Never losing a good customer.
    • Never losing a good team member.
  • We accept the personal responsibility to fulfill our commitments to one another and to the company.
  • We earn the trust of everyone we work with.

Our Values

  • We will be excellent in all we do.
  • We will be enthusiastic in all we do.
  • We will be fun to be with.
  • Our priorities will be:
    • Our moral code
    • Our families
    • Each other
    • Our work
  • We will always do the right thing, and when in doubt confirm it with others
  • We will treat all team members, customers, and vendors with dignity and respect.
  • We will only do that for which we will be comfortable to have in the newspaper.
  • We will speak ill on no one.
  • We will follow the spirit of the laws of the land.
  • We will be a good steward of the environment, and a builder of our community.
"Character Counts" in our evaluation of ourselves ( according to the six pillars of character)

Community Support

As a commitment to our community, we continue to landscape and maintain the public medians on Blanding Blvd. We also participate as guest speakers in local schools.

Our newest and most exciting program is "Our School Our Park." We have become a business partner with local schools, providing them with landscape management programs, equipment, and supplies, in order to raise the appearance level of the schools and save money. The first schools have been a huge success. The volunteers and principals are excited about all the progress. We are looking to formalize the process and bring it to many more schools.
